Opening thoughts:
I’m basically devouring these books. I’m reading them too fast.
Key notes:
Chapter 1: Rank Evaluation
After clearing Demon Castle and choosing the cursed mystery box, Jinwoo receives the recipe for the Elixir of Life and the Crafting skill. He reallocates stat points and realizes the final ingredient (Demon Monarch’s blood) requires a deeper dive into Demon Castle
Chapter 2: President Go’s Proposal
The Hunter Association conducts a rank reevaluation. Tests reveal his overwhelming mana, officially upgrading Jinwoo to S-Rank—the tenth in Korea. President Go offers him a coveted position, but Jinwoo politely declines, preferring independence
Chapter 3: The Paragon of the excavation Team
Under the guise of an A-rank miner, Jinwoo joins an excavation party to further explore dungeon anomalies. His efficiency astonishes the team—especially female S-Rank Haein Cha, who senses something unique about him
Chapter 4: The S-Rank Luggage Carrier
Jinwoo volunteers as a luggage carrier for a high-rank raid. Though seemingly lowly, it gives him a stealthy vantage point to observe elite hunters and dungeon threats
Chapter 5: Attack of the High Orcs
During the raid, the party is ambushed by high-level orcs and shamans. Jinwoo steps in secretly, directing his shadow army to crush the threat and save the team without revealing himself
Chapter 6: Fang
Among his new shadow creations is a powerful mage named Fang, resurrected from an orc shaman. This exhibits Jinwoo’s growing necromantic mastery
Chapter 7: The Tenth S-Rank Hunter
Jinwoo’s S-Rank status becomes public. Media outlets, guilds, and the public react in amazement. Despite the limelight, he remains focused, evading political machinations
Chapter 8: Demon’s Castle: Round 2
He returns to Demon Castle’s higher levels to secure the Demon Monarch’s blood. Facing nobles and intelligent demons, he navigates both combat and negotiation to gather the final Elixir ingredient
Chapter 9: Party Member
Jinwoo continues participating in team raids—remaining incognito while benefiting from observing elite teamwork dynamics and contributing subtly when needed
Chapter 10: Imminent Threat
Although he secures the last ingredient (the Demon Monarch’s blood), Jinwoo becomes aware of looming threats: Japan’s political scheming and the rising ant species crisis. The world’s balance is shifting, and his role is about to become even more crucial
Closing thoughts:
As expected, I zoomed through this volume. The story progression is fantastic.
Nutshell:
Jinwoo transitions to being officially recognized as South Korea’s 10th S-Rank Hunter. He continues to grow his power while political maneuvers begin as Japan and Korea begin to launch an attack on Jeju Island.
