Opening thoughts:
The first volume was insanely good, so I went straight into listening to the 2nd volume.
Key notes:
Chapter 1
Jinwoo tackles his first official C‑Rank dungeon solo while others coordinate outside. He disappears into the gate, reemerging after expertly clearing the interior. His teammates—and the Association—begin to suspect his true strength.
Chapter 2
The Hunter Association investigates the unprecedented solo C‑Rank clear. Jinwoo downplays it, attributing his performance to luck. Still, whispers spread among hunters and guilds about his rapidly rising skills.
Chapter 3
Yoo Jin‑Ho seeks Jinwoo’s help for a dangerous dungeon. Jinwoo agrees—but under strict conditions, aiming to remain low-profile while reaping better rewards.
Chapter 4
In a private dungeon raid, Jinwoo acquires rare loot and valuable EXP while perfectly concealing his identity. He begins refining his strategy: gaining resources quietly, without drawing attention.
Chapter 5
Unique magical phenomena appear in Jinwoo’s raids—enchanting crystals and corrupt mana. He starts suspecting there’s more to these dungeons than simple monster cleansing.
Chapter 6
The System issues a new quest: clear the Demon Castle, a 100-floor S‑Rank instant dungeon. Its ominous warning makes clear this is no ordinary challenge.
Chapter 7
Jinwoo steps into the Demon Castle—a twisted, scorched Seoul. He advances through floor after floor, capturing shadows and rallying his spectral soldiers en route to the final stages.
Chapter 8
He confronts several bosses—Cerberus, Vulcan, Metus—on different floors, defeating each through ruthless efficiency. His army grows as he extracts shadows from each vanquished foe.
Chapter 9
At the pinnacle, Jinwoo faces Baran, the Demon Castle’s final boss. After an intense duel, he prevails—ending the S‑Rank trial and cementing his dominance.
Chapter 10
With the dungeon cleared, Jinwoo is rewarded a cursed mystery box—a high-risk, high-reward treasure. It emits a dark aura, hinting at extraordinary yet potentially dangerous contents.
Closing thoughts:
Each volume just keeps getting better and better. Or perhaps I’m just on the edge of my seat wanting to progress the story.
Nutshell:
Jinwoo continues to develop his new set of skills as the new Shadow Monarch, and is trying to complete all 100 floors of the demon castle quest.
